Reason To Believe

Reason To Believe

In most cases politics
Is just an inflammation
Of personal ego
Nitty gritty
Yet necessary
Like rotor-rooter

And it would be neglectful
Not to honor
Those brave souls
Who are in it
But not of it
And thereby serve the people
Rather than themselves
Or their own potentially misguided compassions
Best intentions, inflections
No if’s, and’s or but’s or compromises

And is often found a few
If not innumerable clicks shy
Of what the people
In desperation always need
A reason to believe

Because sometimes Mercy will find you
Sometimes Mercy is misunderstood
I begged to the Father for Mercy
Only to in some other time find
There is nothing but Mercy
